About the job
Expected to have deep expertise and understanding of the procurement processes and procedures. Should be able to appraise and improve sourcing activities and find out new possibilities.
Responsibility
Ensure out of stock & low-stock items are procured and displayed in the shelf without delay.
Check for non-moving / slow moving items and take action to discontinue them.
Ensure availability of import products as well as local products.
Introduce new and innovative products.
Buying the right product at the right time for the right price and sell it at a competitive price.
Maintain relationship with existing suppliers and source new and alternative suppliers for future requirements.
Presenting new ranges to GM/Managers.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers specifying quality, quantity, price and delivery schedules.
Send requirements for promotion products to CBD well in advance and ensure its availability in the store well before promotion.
Monitor and analyze market changes, past sales history, consumer buying patterns etc to forecast future demand.
Attend exhibitions, trade fairs & events and update/select new innovations and trends.
Monitor the performance of product lines and suppliers; and if necessary, terminate contracts.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 05 years experience as a buyer.
